The RDC-DZHW started its service with permanent funding on June 1st 2017 and carries out its work according to the criteria of the German Data Forum (RatSWD). The RDC-DZHW has been accredited by the German Data Forum in December 2017. From 2015 to 2017 the RDC-DZHW was built up in a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
- Sustainable improvement of the research data infrastructure in the area of higher education research and science studies: RDC-DZHW incorporated in the DZHW with expertise in research data management and research in order to provide an efficient product range for science
- Ensured long-term archiving and ongoing usability of data through technical measures, documentation and support
- Enabling of national and international data use through different high-quality modes of data access and English-language information
- Networking with other institutions of the research data infrastructure to enable exchange and cooperation

Scientific Advisory Board of the RDC-DZHW
The Research Data Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (RDC-DZHW) is supported by a scientific advisory board. The committee consists of representatives of university research and scientific studies, research computer centres and computer science/research infrastructure.
