Research data for higher education research and science studies
The Research Data Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (RDC-DZHW) makes data from the DZHW’s quantitative and qualitative surveys available to researchers. It also archives processed data from the research field and makes them available for secondary use. Scientific Use Files (SUFs) are provided for research purposes and Campus Use Files (CUFs) for teaching purposes. The documentation is available in German and to a large extent also in English. The data currently available are listed here; the list is regularly updated. The fdz.DZHW’s work is carried out in compliance with the German Data Forum (RatSWD)’s criteria and has temporary accreditation from this forum (final accreditation is anticipated in December 2017 after six months’ regular operation).
The RDC was built up in a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) between 2015 and 2017. It started work on June 1st 2017 and now has permanent funding. Thus, the RDC-DZHW is an infrastructure institution, providing reliable services for data users and permanent data archiving. The RDC-DZHW as being part of the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) provides expertise on issues of secondary data use and archiving as well as expertise on higher education research and science studies.
