Scientific Use Files (SUF) serve purely scientific purposes. The primary goal is to provide data sets with the highest possible analytical potential. SUFs are usually factually anonymous data sets. The less a mode of access has to be controlled, the more the analysis potential has to be restricted and the degree of anonymity has to be increased.
